Text Templates
Save reusable message text and insert it into supported Fansly text fields.
Text Templates lets you save replies, promo copy, and other reusable text so you can insert it without retyping. Use it when you send similar messages often, want organized folders, or need a quick starting point that you can edit before sending.
Accessing Text Templates
- Open a supported Fansly text field, such as a direct message, mass message, post composer, notification quick reply, fan note, auto message, or bulk post.
- Click the FBuddy button next to the text field.
- Select Text Templates.
Text Templates is on by default. To turn it off or back on, open FBuddy icon > Tweaks > FBuddy Features and use the Text Templates toggle.
Some supported fields, including direct messages, mass messages, notification quick replies, and fan notes, require a paid plan for template insertion. Post creation and bulk posts support text template insertion without a paid plan.
Managing Templates
- Open Text Templates from the FBuddy button next to a supported text field.
- Click Manage Templates.
- Use the Templates tab to create, edit, move, sort, search, or delete templates.
The Text Templates window shows whether your templates are saved on this device or synced across your devices. Synced templates require a paid plan.
Create a template
- Click New Template.
- Enter a Title.
- Enter your message in Content.
- Add optional attachments if you want to send media with the template in DMs.
- Click Create Template.
Title and content cannot be empty. If either field is blank, FBuddy shows Title and content cannot be empty.
Organize templates with folders
Use the Folders area to keep templates grouped by campaign, audience, or message type.
- Click the folder add button to create a folder.
- Select a folder to show only templates in that folder.
- Use Move to folder on a template to move it.
- Use the folder menu to Rename or Delete a folder.
When you delete a folder, FBuddy asks you to confirm that you want to delete the folder, its templates, and any folders inside it.
Using a Template
- Open the text field where you want to use the template.
- Click the FBuddy button and select Text Templates.
- Use All Templates, a folder, the sort menu, or Search templates... to find the template.
- Click the template.
For templates without attachments, FBuddy inserts the template at your cursor position. You can edit the inserted text before sending, posting, or saving.
For DM templates with attachments, FBuddy opens Use Template so you can review the message first. From there, you can:
- Edit Message for this send only.
- Enter a One-time price when the template includes media.
- Click Insert Text to place only the text in the DM composer.
- Click Schedule to send after a delay.
- Click Send to send the template now.
In DMs, you can also use the Schedule send button on a template row to send after a delay, or the Quick send button to send the template without opening the review window.
Attachments are sent in the order shown on the template. Sending template attachments from the Text Templates menu is currently supported in DMs only. In other supported text fields, choosing a template inserts the text only. If you choose a template with attachments outside a DM, FBuddy inserts the text and shows Media sending is only supported in DMs right now.
If FBuddy shows Media Already Sent before sending a DM template, review the listed media, then click Cancel to stop or Continue Anyway if you still want to send it.
Template row indicators
Template rows can show extra details before you choose one:
- A media badge shows how many media items are attached.
- A price badge shows the saved media price for that template.
- Media previews appear in the saved order.
- In DMs, colored outlines on media previews show whether FBuddy found that the fan has purchased or already received that media.
Template Variables
Template variables fill in fan-specific names when FBuddy has that information. In the template editor, use Click to insert variables: to add them without typing.
{{customName}}uses the custom name you saved for the fan.{{displayName}}uses the fan's display name, then falls back to their username when needed.{{username}}uses the fan's username.- Fallback inserts a version that uses backup text when the custom name is unavailable.
Always preview the final message before sending important or paid content, especially when a fan may not have a custom name.
Scheduled Sends
Use Schedule when you want a DM template to send after a short delay instead of immediately.
- Choose a DM template.
- Click Schedule.
- Enter Delay (seconds).
- Click Schedule.
Scheduled templates appear in Text Templates > Send Queue. The queue shows whether a message is Sending now or Sending in a number of seconds, and you can click Cancel before it starts sending.
The delay must be at least 1 second. If the value is missing or invalid, FBuddy shows Delay must be at least 1 second.
Troubleshooting
- Text Templates is missing: Open FBuddy icon > Tweaks > FBuddy Features and make sure Text Templates is enabled. Then refresh Fansly.
- You see "Paid plan required for templates here": Templates in that text field require a paid plan. Use a paid account, or use templates in post creation.
- You see "Loading templates...": Wait a moment for FBuddy to load your saved templates. If it does not clear, refresh Fansly and open Text Templates again.
- No templates are listed: Click Manage Templates and create your first template, or clear Search templates....
- You see "No templates found": Clear Search templates... or switch back to All Templates.
- You see "Media sending is only supported in DMs right now.": The template has attachments, but that text field supports text insertion only. Open a DM if you want to send the attachments.
- A template does not send: Make sure you are in an open DM before using Send, Quick send, or Schedule.
- You see "Media Already Sent": The template includes media that FBuddy found in the fan's previous received media. Review the listed media before continuing.
- You see "Enter a price between $1 and $500 or leave blank to reuse the template price.": Change One-time price to a value from 1 to 500, or leave it blank.
- You see "Unable to schedule send": Try scheduling again from the same DM, and make sure the delay is at least 1 second.
