Emoji Picker

Add emojis quickly to FBuddy text fields with search, categories, skin tone options, and recently used emojis.

Emoji Picker adds a smile button next to supported text fields so you can insert emojis without leaving the page. Use it for direct messages, posts, notes, quick replies, and template editors.

Accessing Emoji Picker

  1. Open a supported text area (for example, a message composer, post composer, note, or template editor).
  2. Click the smile button next to the field.
  3. Choose an emoji. FBuddy inserts it at your cursor position.

Emoji Picker is on by default. To turn it off or back on, open FBuddy icon > Tweaks > FBuddy Features and use the Emoji Picker toggle.

Emoji Picker Features

Search for an emoji

  1. Click the smile button next to a supported text field.
  2. Type a word in Search emojis..., such as heart, fire, or smile.
  3. Click an emoji from the results to insert it.

Browse by category

  1. Click the smile button next to a supported text field.
  2. Use the category icon row to jump between emoji groups.
  3. Click an emoji to add it to the text field.

Choose a skin tone

  1. Click the skin tone button in the picker toolbar.
  2. Select the skin tone you want to use.
  3. Click an emoji that supports skin tone variations.

Your selected skin tone is remembered for future emoji choices. If an emoji has no skin tone options, it will insert as a single standard style.

Use frequently used emojis

After you use Emoji Picker, your most-used emojis appear in the Frequently Used section. This makes common emojis faster to find without searching each time.

Where It Appears

Emoji Picker can appear next to supported text fields, including:

  • Direct message inputs
  • Post creation text fields
  • Note text fields, including custom names
  • Quick reply boxes
  • Text template editors
  • Auto message composer
  • Mass message composer fields
  • Bulk post composer fields

Troubleshooting

  • The smile button is missing: Open FBuddy icon > Tweaks > FBuddy Features and make sure Emoji Picker is enabled. Then refresh the page.
  • The emoji inserts in the wrong place: Click inside the text field where you want the emoji first, then choose the emoji again.
  • Search shows no results: Try a simpler word, such as heart instead of a longer phrase.
