Member Guide

Learn how to join an agency as a team member, switch workspace modes, and use permissions correctly.

Agencies let you work with your team from one shared workspace in FBuddy.

This page is for members of an existing agency and explains how to switch to the agency view, use shared pages, and work with member-level permissions.

Accessing an Agency

  1. Open Dashboard > Agencies.
  2. Open your agency card.
  3. On the agency overview page, click Activate so FBuddy uses the agency workspace.
  4. Click Deactivate when you want to return to your personal workspace.
  5. If you need to clear the active workspace, open the top navigation context selector and choose No active agency.

You can open only the cards shown on your agency overview. Your permissions control which cards are visible:

  • Members, Invitations, Restricted Words, and Message Statistics appear based on your permissions.
  • Extension Creators and CRM Creators appear when your role has access to those areas.
  • The Active label appears on the currently selected agency card.

Joining and staying connected

  1. Accept the invitation from the email you received.
  2. Sign in with the invited FBuddy account.
  3. After acceptance, FBuddy tries to open your agency automatically.
  4. If you do not land on the agency page:
    • Open Dashboard > Agencies.
    • Open your agency card.
    • Click Activate.
    • Refresh the page if needed.

If the agency does not appear, confirm you accepted the invitation using the same email account and refresh the page. The invitation may also have expired or already been used.

What you can do as a member

  • Use Activate and Deactivate to switch between your agency workspace and your personal workspace.
  • Open cards shown on your agency overview and use the actions your role allows.
  • Leave an agency you no longer need with Leave when that button is available.

What members will not usually be able to do:

  • Send, resend, or cancel invitations unless your role includes invitation access (usually owners and admins).
  • Change roles, invite new members, or remove teammates unless you have member-management access (usually owners and admins).
  • Open and manage agency-wide sections such as Roles without role-management access (usually owners and admins).
  • Edit restricted words or use Message Statistics without the required access level.
  • Manage creator assignments in CRM Creators without creator-management access.
  • Review or change creator access in Extension Creators without creator-management access.

Member role behavior

  • Chatter and Creator (default non-admin roles)
    • Can use the FBuddy tools your role allows.
    • Can leave the agency.
    • Cannot invite, remove, or re-role teammates.
    • Cannot edit restricted words, invitations, creator access controls, message statistics, or roles unless explicitly granted.
  • Admin
    • Can manage members and invitations.
    • Can open and manage creator access, restricted words, and message statistics when your agency permissions allow it.
  • Owner
    • Can perform agency management actions.
    • Can remove the agency when needed.

If your agency uses custom roles or permission sets, your available actions may differ from this default view.

Agency account behavior you may notice

If your role can access creator controls, when you are using an active agency:

  1. Shared creators appear as Active or Inactive in Extension Creators.
  2. Creators marked Inactive are not available for paid agency actions until an admin or owner activates them.

If you get blocked on an account:

  • confirm the agency is active,
  • confirm the creator is Active in Extension Creators,
  • ask an admin/owner to activate it or deactivate another creator if the limit is reached.

Troubleshooting

  • Agency card missing after accepting an invitation: confirm you accepted on the same FBuddy account, then sign in again and refresh.
  • A button is unavailable: that action is restricted by your role permissions.
  • Personal workspace still appears after opening an agency: open the agency card from Dashboard > Agencies, then click Activate. If it still does not switch, choose the agency from the top navigation context selector and click Activate.
  • Creator status options are missing: confirm your agency is active and that your role has creator-management permission.
